Frames cut out of ½" plate. Iron cylinder cast by local foundry, aluminium base cast at bottom of garden. Air and feed pumps attached.
BOILERBolsover Express.
Built 2000 by David Ayers.
Fuel: coal, Pressure: 120 psi, Grate: 1.77 sq ft, Heating Area: 27 sq ft, Output: Sufficient.
Central drum, 8 in dia, 2 ft high. 6 arms, at bottom and two thirds height. 7 tubes, all of equal length, spiral up drum from each bottom arm to top. Cleaned by steam soot blowers.
PROPFabricated, stainless steel., 19" x 27".
Shaft: 1¼" SS.
HISTORYVarious modifications to plant in original boat, Rockabill, meant that vessel was overpowered. Elpenor was built to make better use of that engine and boiler.
