| HULL | Open launch Built 1999 by West Coast Maritime at Caernarfon. Designed by Selway Fisher. Fit-out 1999 by J. Maltby. LOA: 19' 1", LWL: 18' 6", Beam: 4' 9", Draft: 1' 11", Displacement: 1270 Kg. Marine plywood and epoxy British Racing Green, varnished deck and interior. Decked over boiler. Wheel hydraulic steering. |
| ENGINE | Compound, 2¼" + 3¾" x 2½". Built 1994 by John Maltby at Colby. Design: Cyril Taylor, TC (modified). Valve(s): pv on HP, balanced sv on LP, Gear: Slip ecc., Pumps: Simplex steam fp with fwh, prop shaft driven Hypro fp, hand pump.. On turned columns. Originally 700 rpm, 4 IHP, 1.45:1 reduction toothed belt drive. Modified 2002 with piston valve & roller crosshead bearings, tooth belt drive to shaft 1.3 reduction. Engine 550rpm shaft 423 rpm about 4 IHP. Pressure lubrication to all bearings. |
| BOILER | 2-drum WT. Built 1995 by Multitek Industries at Hampton-on-Thames. Fuel: coal, Pressure: 150 psi, Grate: 1.4 sqft, Heating Area: 16 sqft, Output: 250 cu ft/hr. Drums 6" dia x 25" long, drum ends held by a single stay, no welding. 74 copper tubes. Casing by owner, 26" long x 23" wide x 27" high. Converted to puffing from original condensing plant. Bilge ejector, Wkettle. |
