Double diagonal mahogany with additional horizontal veneer on interior of hull.
Straight stem, transom stern, wheel steering, green, varnished decks.
ENGINECompound, 2½" + 4" x 3".
Built 1988 by Sam Wilkinson/ Precision Steam at Chichester.
Design: Stuart Turner, 6A.
Valve(s): sv, Gear: SLRG, Pumps: Xhead driven fp, hand fp, auxiliary donkey pump, injector, Kcond..
2 tfc, 2 cbs, with Alex Ritchie modifications. Xhead driven fp, Xhead driven Edwards air pump, 400 rpm. Pressure lubrication system to steam chest and bearings. Mahogany lagging to cylinders.
BOILERVWT.
Built 1999 by T. Kerston.
Fuel: coal, Pressure: 200 psi.
Steel drum, copper tubes with superheater. ‘Geoff Newton’ design. Mahogany lagging, brass dome.
PROP3 blades, bronze, 18" x 26".
Shaft: 1¼" SS.
HISTORYNew boat built for owner John Quick. Steam plant fitted by owner, 1992. First steamed April 1992.
Originally fitted with 1991 Precision Steam VWT No.801. No.6 size. Coal-fired, 175psi. Drum 10" dia x 14" high, 20 x 5/8" O/D x 16 SWG helical tubes, total 91", casing 24" dia x 36" high. Hs 28 sqft, 2.2 sqft grate, 310 lbs/hr output.
Aquired by Jim Bailey in 2000.
Bought by Robin Ford in October 2003. Canopy to be installed Winter 2004/5
