Varnished, wheel steering, canvas canopy and side curtains, Harrison type rudder.
ENGINECompound, 2¼" + 35/8" x 2½".
Built 1996 by Ian Cross at Derby.
Design: Cyril Taylor.
Valve(s): sv, Gear: SLRG.
On 6 turned columns, non-condensing.
BOILERLocomotive type.
Built 1996 by Kevin Neate at Manchester.
Fuel: coal, Pressure: 200 psi.
Side fired, shell 14" dia x 32" long, hand fp, injector.
PROP3 blades, 16" x 20".
Shaft: 7/8".
HISTORYBuilt as electric canoe for Hobbs & Sons, Henley, sunk on Thames at Preston Crowmarsh during 1950’s, restored and plant fitted by John Emmett 1981. First steamed 31 May 1982 at SBA Thames cruise. Then to Clive Gulliver 1984. Acquired by Ian Cross 1995. Completely rebuilt and new steam plant fitted. Known as SANDPIPER.
Aquired by Lyndon Yorke 2007. Renamed STEAMPIPER
