Marine plywood joined by glass-fibre tape using the stitch and glue method.
Open Canadian canoe. Rudder steering via a continuous cable running bow to stern.
ENGINESingle, 2¼" x 2".
Built 1984 by Mike Robinson.
Design: Stuart Turner, Cygnet.
Valve(s): sv, Gear: SLRG, Pumps: Hand fp, Kcond and hot well..
Fitted with Stuart Turner boiler feed pump and displacement lubricator.
BOILERMonotube.
Built 2003 by Mike Robinson.
Fuel: paraffin, Pressure: 100 psi, Heating Area: 2 sqft.
Designed by the owner. 36’ stainless steel tube (¼" OD, ?" ID) formed into a clover leaf pattern. Steam separator and drier. Pot burner with forced air from an electric fan. Stainless steel casing and funnel. The total mass of the boiler is 12Kg.
PROPAluminium, 12" x 20".
Shaft: 5/8" SS.
HISTORYNew boat completed in 2005. The boat is designed to be transported on the roof of a car. The engine and boiler are easily removed and carried separately. Total 80Kg.
