| HULL | Saloon launch Built 2001 by Julian Garratt with Bob Fenton of Harwich Boatcraft. Designed by Selway Fisher. Model: Edwardian (modified) Fit-out April 2002 by Julian Garratt. LOA: 27', LWL: 24' 3", Beam: 6' 5", Draft: 2', Displacement: 1.5 tonnes. Strip plank covered with epoxied bi-axial glass cloth White hull with black boot topping. Upper works varnished teak. Cabin has 2 berths, galley, w/c & shower, full electrics and h&c pressurised water system. Fresh water from 2x 23 gallon tanks which also provide ballast. |
| ENGINE | Compound, 2½" + 5" x 4". Built c1890 by A.G. Mumford Ltd. at Colchester. Valve(s): sv, Gear: SLRG, Pumps: Xhead driven fp & ap, hand pump, injector, steam driven fp.. Cast bronze base, tf&bc. Previously in "Sunbeam". Overhauled by Anthony Beaver prior to installation in "Sunbeam" who made air pump. Alternator driven from prop shaft. |

| HISTORY | Modified Selway Fisher Edwardian design to requirements of owner. Straight stem and narrower beam to give more of an LIFU appearance but with a counter stern, also lengthened to provide more room for steam plant. Much of the teak and the pitch pine floor boards is reused timber from old flour mills. Engine is believed to have been used in WW2 to run a generating set. |
