LOA: 26', LWL: 23', Beam: 7' 6", Draft: 2' 2", Displacement: 4000 lbs. Kauri frames, Surian strip planked, sheathed with fibreglass externally. Deck is White Beech with Teak margin boards and kingplanks. Canopy is Western Red Cedar with Kauri beams, coaming is Kalantis.Interior fitout is Australian Cedar and Kalantis Counter stern |
| ENGINE | Triple Expansion, 2¾" + 43/8" + 6½" x 4". Built 2004 by Peter Cowie. Design: Elliott Bay Steam Launch Co., TE. Valve(s): pv on HP & IP, sv on LP, Gear: SLRG with double-bar marine links, Pumps: Xhead driven fp, circulating pump & ap, .3/8" Penberthy injector, inboard surface condenser consisting of 2 x 6' lengths of concentric 1½" and 2" copper tubes is fitted beneath the sole.. Castings bought from EBSLC in 2000, Numerous modifications to original design, essentially completed by December 2003 and steamed for the first time. Displayed complete with Australian Cedar lagging and finishing touches under steam at the 2003Sydney Wooden Boat Festival in March 2004 Crankshaft fabricated by shrink fitting (see Funnel 113 p23) The engine produced 7.2BHP @300rpm and 180psi on the dynamometer in May 2005 |
| BOILER | Keyhole WT. Built 2003 by John Davis Steam Engineering. Fuel: brown coal briquettes, Pressure: 185 psi, Grate: 1.8 sqft, Heating Area: 25 sqft, Output: 200 lbs/hr. There are 98 x .5/8" copper water tubes above the firebox between the two stayed end plates. The steam drum is 14" diameter. There is a 6" vertical flue throught the steam drum. Circulating water is supplied by a reciprocating pump of 1¼" diameter driven off the IP crosshead (4" stroke) giving about 10 gallons per minute at 300rpm. A small amount of air is introduced in the intake to cushion the pump. |

| HISTORY | New boat, launched December 2005. At the time of writing (April 2006) she has steamed 350miles.
