3 ton dredger grab, crane No. 2473. Grab powered by 10½" dia direct acting steam cylinder

History

Supplied new to Grand Union Canal Co. Ltd. as their dredger ‘No.14’, later British Waterways Board, 1967 - 1974 owned by Kennet &Avon Canal Trust. 1974-1993 Surrey & Hampshire Canal Society. Acquired October 1993, for restoration 2000-01. Boiler formerly used at Luton laundry.
