Boiler

Babcock type HWT Built 1984 by Hugh Cawdron
Fuel: paraffin, Pressure: 150 psi, Heating area: 27 sqft, Output: 200 lbs/hr,
Xhead lever driven fp & ap. 4 stage oil separator, hotwell with automatic regulator. In 2001, two 26 kW 12 volt electrically powered pressure jet kerosene burners replaced the paraffin vapourizer. Kcond, Wkettle.

History

Hull, boiler and original burner designed by first owner Hugh Cawdon as a trailable boat following the SBA Seminar on that subject 1976. Launched 1989, hence name! First steamed c 1991, steamed most years since. Acquired 1999. Pressure jet burners and positive engine oiling system fitted by current owners in 2001. Over 110 hours in steam in 2002 and also in 2003.
